One Piece Live-Action Show Cast presents itself in a new video


The stars of Netflix’s One Piece live-action show introduce themselves in a new video, showing off neat shirts designed for the series.

Breaking new barriers in an exciting time for the series, the latest iteration in the story of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates crew is on its way to Netflix.

With a new animated film on the horizon, One Piece Film: Red, the franchise continues to grow its brand by adding characters that are popular with fans of the anime. However, the live show is perhaps the biggest undertaking to date, generating huge buzz around a series that some might have expected to slow down in the years to come.

In a quick promotional video posted to YouTube by the official A piece channel, the main cast of the new adaptation introduce themselves to viewers, each wearing a black A piece t-shirt designed by Oda himself. The promo begins with Taz Skylar introducing himself as Sanji, with words of thanks for Oda, followed by an enthusiastic Jacob Romero Gibson jumping for joy on his couch, slipping into the character of Usopp. Next up is Emily Rudd, with a message of excitement for her new role as Nami. Mackenyu, who is slated to appear as Roronoa Zoro in the series, follows with his support. To close the clip, Iñaki Godoy, who will play Monkey D. Luffy, exclaims: “I can’t wait to become the Pirate King.“Watch the video below:

The adaptation reboots the story of the Straw Hat Pirates, creating a new take on the A piece saga, which began in 1997. Monkey D. Luffy will start again in his quest for A piece treasure, and viewers will see the crew explore the Grand Line in a way unique to the long-standing 2D world that the series has maintained for so long. But the characters, set in stone by the franchise’s huge success over the past two decades, will remain the familiar protagonists so many have grown to love.
